ABOUT KOTOKoto is a writer born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She has a bachelors degree in film with a minor in religious studies from Kenyon College, and a masters degree in screenwriting from UC Riverside. She currently works as a Script Coordinator for a Japanese-American animated series at Moonbug Entertainment.
Outside of work, she writes drama screenplays about immigrants in the U.S. aimed at the younger American audience, often infused with a romantic plot or musical numbers.
When she’s not writing, she’s at the AMC or playing archery.
Koto found filmmaking during middle school in Tokyo,
made films in Vermont during her first time in the U.S.,
produced and assisted on more film & TV sets in NY, OH, MA, VT, and Kyoto...
then found a home in LA!
